Musnad Ahmad 770:72

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn Jarir, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, from Jarir, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "That he used to enter the lavatory while wearing his leather socks, then he would come out and perform ablution and wipe over them." *** 19224 - Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, and Abdullah said: I heard it myself from Ibn Abi Shaybah, who said: Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, from Jarir, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me to Yemen, and I met two men there: Dhu Kala' and Dhu 'Amr. He said: And I informed them of some of the news of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." He said: Then we set out, and a caravan appeared to us from the direction of Medina. He said: We asked them, "What is the news?" He said: They replied, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has passed away, and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) has been made successor, and the people are in a good state." He said: He [Dhu Kala'] said to me, "Inform your companion." He said: Then they returned. Then I met Dhu 'Amr, and he said to me, "O Jarir, you will continue to be in a good state as long as, when a leader dies, you appoint another in his place. But if it becomes a matter of the sword, you will become angry with the anger of kings and be pleased with the pleasure of kings."
