And from the Hadith of Jarir ibn Abdullah (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
ومن حديث جرير بن عبد الله، (1) عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 770:73
Makki ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Dawud—meaning ibn Yazid al-Awdi—narrated to us, from Amir, from Jarir, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "If a slave runs away and joins the enemy, and then dies, he is a disbeliever."
حدثنا مكي بن إبراهيم، حدثنا داود يعني ابن يزيد الأودي، عن عامر، عن جرير، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إذا أبق العبد، فلحق بالعدو، فمات، فهو كافر "
