Musnad Ahmad 770:82

'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, Sulayman al-A'mash narrated to us, from Ibrahim, from Hammam ibn al-Harith, that Jarir ibn 'Abd Allah urinated, performed ablution, and wiped over his leather socks. It was said to him [about that], so he said: "I have seen the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, do it." Ibrahim said: That was most pleasing to them because Jarir's Islam was after [the revelation of] al-Ma'idah.
