Musnad Ahmad 770:84

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Sulayman, from Ibrahim, from Hammam ibn al-Harith, from Jarir, that he urinated. He said: Then he performed ablution, wiped over his leather socks, and prayed. He was asked about that, and he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, do the like of this." He said: And this hadith used to please them, because Jarir was among the last of those who embraced Islam.
