Hadith 429:10
Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Mis’ar narrated to us, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from a man from ‘Anazah, from Nafi’ ibn Jubayr ibn Mut’im, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say: "Allah is the Greatest, [much] greatness; and praise be to Allah, [much] praise; and glory be to Allah and by His praise, morning and evening. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed Satan, from his *hamz* (stifling/madness), his *nafk* (pride), and his *nafth* (poetry)." He said: I said: "What is his *hamz*?" He said: He mentioned something like the *mawta* (a state of unconsciousness) — meaning epilepsy. I said: "What is his *nafk*?" He said: "Pride." I said: "What is his *nafth*?" He said: "Poetry."
