Hadith 429:20
Muhammad bin Kathir narrated to us, he said: Sulaiman bin Kathir narrated to us, from Husayn bin Abd al-Rahman, from Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mut'im, from his father, who said: "The moon split during the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and it became two parts: one part upon this mountain, and one part upon this mountain. So they said: 'Muhammad has bewitched us.' Then they said: 'If he has bewitched us, he cannot bewitch all the people.'"
حدثنا محمد بن كثير، قال: حدثنا سليمان بن كثير، عن حصين بن عبد الرحمن، عن محمد بن جبير بن مطعم، عن أبيه، قال: " انشق القمر على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فصار فرقتين: فرقة على هذا الجبل، وفرقة على هذا الجبل، فقالوا: سحرنا محمد، فقالوا: إن كان سحرنا فإنه لا يستطيع أن يسحر الناس كلهم "
