Hadith 429:24
Ya'qub narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, he said: Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn 'Ubayd Allah ibn Shihab mentioned, from Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im, from his father, Jubayr, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was addressing the people at al-Khayf: "May Allah brighten a servant who heard my statement, memorized it, and then conveyed it to one who did not hear it. For how many a bearer of jurisprudence has no jurisprudence of his own, and how many a bearer of jurisprudence conveys it to one who is more learned in jurisprudence than him." "Three things upon which the heart of a believer does not harbor malice: sincerity of action, obedience to those in authority, and adhering to the community, for their supplication encompasses those behind them." And from Ibn Ishaq, he said: 'Amr ibn Abi 'Amr, the freed slave of al-Muttalib, narrated to me, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Huwayrith, from Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im, from his father, similar to the hadith of Ibn Shihab, neither adding nor omitting anything.
حدثنا يعقوب، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن ابن إسحاق، قال: فذكر محمد بن مسلم بن عبيد الله بن شهاب، عن محمد بن جبير بن مطعم، عن أبيه جبير، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يخطب الناس بالخيف: " نضر الله عبدا سمع مقالتي، فوعاها، ثم أداها إلى من لم يسمعها، فرب حامل فقه لا فقه له، ورب حامل فقه إلى من هو أفقه منه " " ثلاث لا يغل عليهن قلب المؤمن: إخلاص العمل، وطاعة ذوي الأمر، ولزوم الجماعة، فإن دعوتهم تكون من ورائه " وعن ابن إسحاق، قال: حدثني عمرو بن أبي عمرو مولى المطلب، عن عبد الرحمن بن الحويرث، عن محمد بن جبير بن مطعم، عن أبيه، مثل حديث ابن شهاب، لم يزد، ولم ينقص
