Hadith 429:48
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b informed us, from al-Harith ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im, from his father, who said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the road to Makkah, he said: "The people of Yemen will emerge upon you as if they were clouds; they are the best of those on the earth." A man from the Ansar said: "And not us, O Messenger of Allah?" He remained silent. He said: "And not us, O Messenger of Allah?" He remained silent. He said: "And not us, O Messenger of Allah?" Then he said in the third instance, in a soft tone: "Except for you."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، قال: أخبرنا ابن أبي ذئب، عن الحارث بن عبد الرحمن، عن محمد بن جبير بن مطعم، عن أبيه، قال: بينا نحن مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بطريق مكة إذ قال: " يطلع عليكم أهل اليمن كأنهم السحاب، هم خيار من في الأرض ". فقال رجل من الأنصار: ولا نحن يا رسول الله؟ فسكت. قال: ولا نحن يا رسول الله؟ فسكت، قال: ولا نحن يا رسول الله؟ فقال في الثالثة كلمة ضعيفة: " إلا أنتم "
