Hadith 429:51
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, he said: 'Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to me, from Yunus ibn Yazid, from al-Zuhri, he said: Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib informed me, he said: Jubayr ibn Mut'im narrated to me, that he and 'Uthman ibn 'Affan came speaking to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) regarding what he had distributed of the khums (one-fifth) of Hunayn between Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib. They said: "O Messenger of Allah, you have distributed to our brothers, Banu al-Muttalib and Banu 'Abd Manaf, and you have not given us anything, yet our kinship is like their kinship." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "I only consider Hashim and al-Muttalib to be one thing." Jubayr said: And the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) did not distribute to Banu 'Abd Shams nor to Banu Nawfal from that khums as he had distributed to Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، قال: حدثني عبد الله بن المبارك، عن يونس بن يزيد، عن الزهري، قال: أخبرني سعيد بن المسيب، قال: حدثني جبير بن مطعم، أنه جاء وعثمان بن عفان يكلمان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فيما قسم من خمس حنين بين بني هاشم وبني المطلب، فقالا: يا رسول الله، قسمت لإخواننا بني المطلب وبني عبد مناف، ولم تعطنا شيئا، وقرابتنا مثل قرابتهم. فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إنما أرى هاشما والمطلب شيئا واحدا " قال جبير: ولم يقسم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لبني عبد شمس ولا لبني نوفل من ذلك الخمس كما قسم لبني هاشم وبني المطلب
