Hadith of Jubayr ibn Mut'im (RA)

Hadith 429:9

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Mis'ar, who said: 'Amr ibn Murrah narrated to me, from a man, from Nafi' ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im, from his father, who said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying during voluntary prayer: "Allah is the Greatest, [He is] the Greatest" — three times — "and praise be to Allah, much" — three times — "and glory be to Allah, morning and evening" — three times — "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed Satan, from his *hamz*, his *nafth*, and his *nafkh*." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is his *hamz*, his *nafth*, and his *nafkh*?" He said: "As for his *hamz*, it is the madness (*al-mawtah*) that seizes the son of Adam. As for his *nafkh*, it is pride. And his *nafth* is poetry."
