Hadith 1284:1
Abdullah ibn Yazid narrated to us, Sa’id—meaning Ibn Abi Ayyub—narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Aswad narrated to me, from Urwah, from Aisha, from Judamah bint Wahb, the sister of Ukashah, she said: I was present with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, among some people, and he was saying: "I had intended to forbid *al-ghilah* (having sexual intercourse with a nursing mother), but then I looked at the Romans and the Persians, and I saw that they practice *ghilah* with their children, and it does not harm their children at all." Then they asked him about *al-azl* (coitus interruptus), and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to them: "That is the hidden infanticide," and it is [the interpretation of the verse]: "And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked."
حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد، حدثنا سعيد يعني ابن أبي أيوب، قال: حدثني أبو الأسود، عن عروة، عن عائشة، عن جدامة بنت وهب، أخت عكاشة، قالت: حضرت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في ناس وهو يقول: " لقد هممت أن أنهى عن الغيلة فنظرت في الروم، وفارس فإذا هم يغيلون أولادهم، ولا يضر أولادهم ذلك شيئا، ثم سألوه عن العزل فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم له : " ذاك الوأد الخفي " وهو {وإذا الموءودة سئلت}
