Hadith of Jundub (RA)

Hadith 681:4

'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, my father narrated to us, al-Jurayri informed us, from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Jashmi, Jundub narrated to us, he said: A Bedouin came and made his riding beast kneel, then he hobbled it, then he prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished praying, he came to his riding beast, untied its hobble, then mounted it, then called out: "O Allah, have mercy on me and on Muhammad, and do not let anyone share in our mercy." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do you say this one is more astray, or his camel? Did you not hear what he said?" They said: "Yes." He said: "He has restricted the vast mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah created one hundred mercies, and He sent down one mercy by which the creatures show compassion to one another—their jinn, their humans, and their beasts—and with Him are ninety-nine. Do you say he is more astray, or his camel?"
