Hadith of Ka‘b ibn Malik (RA)
Hadith 1227:12
Uthman ibn Umar narrated to us, he said: Yunus informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Abdullah ibn Ka’b ibn Malik, that his father informed him that he demanded a debt from Ibn Abi Hadrad that he owed him during the time of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in the mosque. Their voices rose until the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, heard them while he was in his house. He came out to them until he lifted the curtain of his chamber, then he called out: "O Ka’b ibn Malik." He said: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah." He gestured to him to remit half of his debt. He said: "I have done so, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Rise and pay it."
