Hadith 1227:6
Yazid and Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, they said: Al-Mas'udi informed us, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from Ibn Ka'b ibn Malik, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The likeness of the believer is like the tender stalk of vegetation which the winds sway; it bends it over one time and straightens it another, until his appointed time comes to him. And the likeness of the disbeliever is like the cedar tree, firmly rooted upon its base, which nothing moves, until its uprooting comes all at once."
حدثنا يزيد، وأبو النضر، قالا: أنا المسعودي، عن سعد بن إبراهيم، عن ابن كعب بن مالك، عن أبيه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " مثل المؤمن كالخامة من الزرع تفيئها الرياح، تصرعها مرة وتعدلها أخرى حتى يأتيه أجله، ومثل الكافر مثل الأرزة المجذية على أصلها لا يقلها شيء، حتى يكون انجعافها مرة "
