Hadith 1227:9
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ka'b ibn Malik, from his father, that he said to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has revealed regarding poetry what He has revealed." He said: "Indeed, the believer strives with his sword and his tongue. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, it is as if what you pelt them with is the striking of arrows."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق، قال: أخبرنا معمر، عن الزهري، عن عبد الرحمن بن كعب بن مالك، عن أبيه، أنه قال للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن الله عز وجل قد أنزل في الشعر ما أنزل، فقال: " إن المؤمن يجاهد بسيفه ولسانه، والذي نفسي بيده، لكأن ما ترمونهم به نضح النبل "
