Hadith 625:13
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw me while my lice were falling onto my face. He said: "Do these vermin of yours bother you?" I said: "Yes." He said: "Then shave [your head]." He commanded me to shave while we were at al-Hudaybiyah, and it had not been made clear to them that they were to shave there, as they were hopeful of entering Makkah. Then Allah revealed [the verse regarding] the ransom. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded me to feed a *faraq* [a measure] among six poor people, or to fast for three days, or to sacrifice a sheep.
