Hadith 625:29
Yazid narrated to us, Hisham informed us, from Muhammad, from Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he mentioned a tribulation and brought it near. Then a man passed by, covered [with a garment]. He said: "This one, on that day, will be upon guidance." He said: So I followed him until I took hold of his upper arms, and I turned his face toward him [the Prophet], and I uncovered his head, and I said: "Is this him, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Yes." And behold, it was Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him).
حدثنا يزيد، أخبرنا هشام، عن محمد، عن كعب بن عجرة قال: كنت عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فذكر فتنة فقربها، فمر رجل متقنع فقال: " هذا يومئذ على الهدى " قال: فاتبعته حتى أخذت بضبعيه، فحولت وجهه إليه، وكشفت عن رأسه، فقلت هذا يا رسول الله؟ قال: " نعم " فإذا هو عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه
