Hadith 625:32
Hashim narrated to us, 'Isa ibn al-Musayyib al-Bajali narrated to us, from al-Sha'bi, from Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, who said: While I was sitting in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), with our backs leaning against the qiblah of the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)—seven men, four of our mawali (freedmen) and three of our Arabs—the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out to us for the Dhuhr prayer until he reached us. He said: "What makes you sit here?" We said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are waiting for the prayer." He remained silent for a little while, then he raised his head and said: "Do you know what your Lord, Mighty and Majestic is He, says?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "For your Lord, Mighty and Majestic is He, says: 'Whoever performs the prayer at its time, maintains it, and does not neglect it out of disregard for its right, then he has a covenant with Me that I will admit him into Paradise. And whoever does not perform it at its time, does not maintain it, and neglects it out of disregard for its right, then he has no covenant with Me; if I will, I will punish him, and if I will, I will forgive him.'"
حدثنا هاشم، حدثنا عيسى بن المسيب البجلي، عن الشعبي، عن كعب بن عجرة، قال: بينما أنا جالس في مسجد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، مسندي ظهورنا إلى قبلة مسجد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، سبعة رهط أربعة من موالينا، وثلاثة من عربنا، إذ خرج إلينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، صلاة الظهر حتى انتهى إلينا، فقال: " ما يجلسكم هاهنا " قلنا: يا رسول الله ننتظر الصلاة، قال: فأرم قليلا، ثم رفع رأسه، فقال: " أتدرون ما يقول ربكم عز وجل، قال: " قلنا: الله ورسوله أعلم، قال: " فإن ربكم عز وجل يقول: من صلى الصلاة لوقتها، وحافظ عليها، ولم يضيعها استخفافا بحقها فله علي عهد أن أدخله الجنة، ومن لم يصلها لوقتها، ولم يحافظ عليها، وضيعها استخفافا بحقها، فلا عهد له، إن شئت عذبته، وإن شئت غفرت له "
