Hadith 625:5
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Shu'bah, he said: Al-Hakam narrated to me, from Ibn Abi Layla, he said: And Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah informed us, from Al-Hakam, he said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla say: Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah met me—Ibn Ja'far said: He said: "Shall I not give you a gift? The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came out to us, and we said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we have already learned, or we have come to know, how to greet you, so how should we send blessings upon you?' He said: 'Say: O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon the family of Abraham; indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed the family of Abraham; indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.'"
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، عن شعبة، قال: حدثني الحكم، عن ابن أبي ليلى، قال: وحدثنا محمد بن جعفر، أخبرنا شعبة، عن الحكم، قال: سمعت ابن أبي ليلى قال: لقيني كعب بن عجرة قال ابن جعفر قال: ألا أهدي لك هدية؟ خرج علينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقلنا: يا رسول الله، قد علمنا، أو عرفنا، كيف السلام عليك، فكيف الصلاة؟ قال: " قولوا اللهم صل على محمد، وعلى آل محمد، كما صليت على آل إبراهيم، إنك حميد مجيد، اللهم بارك على محمد، وعلى آل محمد، كما باركت على آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد "
