Hadith 625:7
Isma'il narrated to us, Ayyub narrated to us, from Mujahid, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me while I was lighting a fire under a cooking pot, and lice were falling onto my face—or he said: my eyebrows. He said: "Do the vermin of your head bother you?" I said: "Yes." He said: "Then shave it, and fast for three days, or feed six poor people, or sacrifice an animal." Ayyub said: I do not know with which of them he began.
حدثنا إسماعيل، حدثنا أيوب، عن مجاهد، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى، عن كعب بن عجرة قال: أتى علي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأنا أوقد تحت قدر، والقمل يتناثر على وجهي، أو قال: حاجبي، فقال: " أيؤذيك هوام رأسك؟ " قال: قلت: نعم، قال: " فاحلقه، وصم ثلاثة أيام، أو أطعم ستة مساكين، أو انسك نسيكة " قال أيوب: لا أدري بأيتهن بدأ.
