Hadith of Khabbab ibn al-Aratt (RA) from the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 908:17
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from al-A'mash, from Abu al-Duha, from Masruq, who said: Khabbab ibn al-Aratt said: "I was a blacksmith in Makkah, and I used to work for al-'As ibn Wa'il. Some dirhams accumulated for me upon him, so I came to demand payment from him. He said: 'I will not pay you until you disbelieve in Muhammad.' I said: 'By Allah, I will not disbelieve in Muhammad until you die, and then you are resurrected.' He said: 'So if I am resurrected, will I have wealth and children?' I mentioned that to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and Allah revealed: 'Have you seen the one who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children?"' [Maryam: 77], until He reached: '...and he will come to Us alone.' [Maryam: 80]."
