Hadith of Khabbab ibn al-Aratt (RA) from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 908:25

Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, al-A’mash informed us, from Muslim, from Masruq, from Khabbab, who said: "I was a blacksmith, and I had a claim upon al-As ibn Wa’il. I came to him to demand payment, and he said: 'I will not give you [anything] until you disbelieve in Muhammad.' I said: 'No, by Allah, I will not disbelieve in Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, until you die and are then resurrected.' He said: 'Then he laughed and said: "I will have wealth and children, and then I will give you your due."' So Allah revealed: 'Have you seen the one who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children"? Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken from the Most Merciful a covenant?' [Maryam: 77-78]"
