Hadith of Khabbab ibn al-Aratt (RA) from the Prophet (SAW)
حديث خباب بن الأرت (1) عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 908:8
Waki’ narrated to us, Ibn Abi Khalid narrated to us, from Qays, who said: We entered upon Khabbab to visit him while he was building a wall of his. He said: "The Muslim is rewarded for everything, except for what he puts into this soil." He had been cauterized seven times on his stomach, and he said: "Were it not that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade us from praying for death, I would have prayed for it."
حدثنا وكيع، حدثنا ابن أبي خالد، عن قيس، قال: دخلنا على خباب، نعوده، وهو يبني حائطا له، فقال: المسلم يؤجر في كل شيء إلا ما يجعل في هذا التراب. وقد اكتوى سبعا في بطنه، وقال: " لولا أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهانا أن ندعو بالموت، لدعوت به "
