Musnad Ahmad 1160:5

I read to Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim, he said: My father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, he said: Al-Hajjaj ibn al-Sa'ib ibn Abi Lubabah ibn 'Abd al-Mundhir al-Ansari narrated to me, that his grandmother, Khansa bint Khidham ibn Khalid, was with a man before Abu Lubabah, and she became a widow from him. Her father, Khidham ibn Khalid, married her to a man from Banu 'Amr ibn 'Awf ibn al-Khazraj. She refused, desiring only to be with Abu Lubabah, while her father refused except to hold her to the 'Awfi man, until their matter was raised to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "She has more right to her own affair," and he granted her her desire. He said: So she was taken away from the 'Awfi man and married Abu Lubabah, and she bore him Abu al-Sa'ib ibn Abi Lubabah. *** [Abdullah said:] I read to my father, Yazid ibn Harun, he said: Muhammad—meaning Ibn Ishaq—narrated to us, from al-Hajjaj ibn al-Sa'ib ibn Abi Lubabah, he said: Khansa bint Khidham was with a man and became a widow from him. Her father married her to a man from Banu 'Awf, but she desired Abu Lubabah. Her father refused except to hold her to the 'Awfi man, and she refused, until their matter was raised to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He said: "She has more right to her own affair," and he granted her her desire. So she married Abu Lubabah and bore him Abu al-Sa'ib.
