Hadith of Khaythama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from his father
حديث خيثمة بن عبد الرحمن، عن أبيه
Hadith 522:5
Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Yunus narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Khaythama, who said: My grandfather had a boy born to him, and he named him Aziz. He came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: A boy has been born to me. He said: "What did you name him?" He said: I said, "Aziz." He said: "No, rather he is Abd al-Rahman." He said: So he is my father.
حدثنا أبو نعيم، حدثنا يونس، عن أبي إسحاق، عن خيثمة، قال: ولد جدي غلاما، فسماه عزيزا، فأتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: ولد لي غلام، قال: " فما سميته؟ " قال: قلت: عزيزا. قال: " لا، بل هو عبد الرحمن ". قال: فهو أبي
