Musnad Ahmad 944:22

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, and Abu Nu'aym said: Sufyan narrated to us, from his father, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from 'Amr ibn Maymun, from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Jadali, from Khuzaymah ibn Thabit: "That the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) set for the traveler three [days and nights], and for the resident one day and one night." He said: "And by Allah, had the questioner continued in his questioning, he would have made it five." And Abu Nu'aym said: "A day for the resident."
