Hadith of Laqit bin Sabirah (RA)

حديث لقيط بن صبرة

Hadith 310:0

Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja’far, who said: Narrated to us Shu’bah, from ‘Asim ibn Laqit ibn Sabirah, from his father, that he came with a delegation to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said: We arrived, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was not present. We sat down, and then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came, accompanied by some of his companions. He said: When he sat down, he stood up and said: "Is there anyone among the people who has a need?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah, we have a man who has a fasting mother who has died, and she had not performed Hajj." He said: "Perform Hajj on her behalf." He said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have a wife who is pregnant." He said: "Do not approach her until she delivers." He said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have a servant who is foolish, and he has broken a vessel of mine." He said: "Forgive him, for he has broken it, and it is a vessel that will perish, and its value is not great." He said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, inform me about Wudu’." He said: "Perform the Wudu’ completely, let the water run between your fingers, and exaggerate in sniffing water (into the nose), unless you are fasting."
