Musnad Ahmad 1067:3

Yazid narrated to us, Muhammad—meaning Ibn Abi Amr—informed us, from Safwan ibn Sulaym, from Mahmud ibn Labid, who said: When "Alhakumu at-takathur" (The mutual rivalry for piling up [worldly things] diverts you) was revealed, he recited it until he reached: "Then, on that Day, you shall be questioned about the delight" [At-Takathur: 8]. They said: "O Messenger of Allah, about which delight shall we be questioned? For there are only the two black ones: water and dates, and our swords are upon our necks, and the enemy is present. So, about which delight shall we be questioned?" He said: "Verily, that will come to pass."
