Hadith 1004:0
Narrated to us by Yahya ibn Sa’id, from Hisham, who said: Narrated to me my father, from Mukhariq, who said: I came to Tariq ibn Shihab, and he was a man who had accompanied the Prophet (ﷺ). I said to him: "I heard you saying that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'A man entered Paradise because of a fly, and a man entered the Fire because of a fly.'" He said: "Yes. Two men passed by a people who had an idol, which no one could pass by until they offered a sacrifice to it. They said to one of the two men: 'Offer a sacrifice.' He said: 'I have nothing to offer.' They said to him: 'Offer even a fly.' So he offered a fly, and they let him pass, so he entered the Fire. They said to the other: 'Offer a sacrifice.' He said: 'I would not offer a sacrifice to anyone other than Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.' So they struck his neck, and he entered Paradise."
