Hadith 566:1
Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, from Abu Ramlah, who said: Makhnaf ibn Sulaym narrated it to us, saying: While we were with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he was standing at ‘Arafat, he said: "O people, upon every household—or upon every household—in every year is a sacrifice (*udhiyah*) and an *‘atirah*." He said: "Do you know what the *‘atirah* is?"—Ibn ‘Awn said: I do not know what they replied—he said: "It is this which the people call the *Rajabiyyah*."
حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي، عن ابن عون، عن أبي رملة، قال: حدثناه مخنف بن سليم، قال: ونحن مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو واقف بعرفات، فقال: " يا أيها الناس، إن على كل أهل بيت، - أو على كل أهل بيت - في كل عام أضحاة وعتيرة " قال: " تدرون ما العتيرة؟ " - قال ابن عون: فلا أدري ما ردوا -، قال: " هذه التي يقول الناس: الرجبية "
