Hadith of Malik ibn al-Huwayrith (RA)
Hadith 129:5
Abu Ubaydah—meaning al-Haddad—narrated to us, he said: Aban narrated to us, al-Attar said: From Budayl, from Abu Atiyyah, from Malik ibn al-Huwayrith, he said: He visited us in our mosque. He said: Then the prayer was called, and they said: "Lead us in prayer, may Allah have mercy on you." He said: "No, let a man from among you lead the prayer." He said: When he finished the prayer, he said: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If a man visits a people, he should not lead them in prayer; rather, a man from among them should lead them.'"
