Musnad Ahmad 129:6

Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Aban ibn Yazid al-Attar narrated to us, from Budayl ibn Maysarah al-Uqayli, who said: Abu Atiyyah, the freed slave of Mana, narrated to me, from Malik ibn al-Huwayrith, who said: He used to come to our prayer place, and it was said to him: "Step forward and lead the prayer." He said: "Let one of you lead the prayer, until I tell you why I did not lead you in prayer." When the people had prayed, he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "If one of you visits a people, he should not lead them in prayer; rather, a man from among them should lead them."
