Musnad Ahmad 203:5

'Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, Abu Ishaq said: He informed us, he said: I heard Abu al-Ahwas narrating from his father, who said: I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while I was in a disheveled state. He said: "Do you have wealth?" I said: Yes. He said: "What is your wealth?" He said: Of all kinds of wealth: horses, camels, slaves, and sheep. He said: "If Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, gives you wealth, then let its effect be seen upon you." He then said: "Do your people's camels give birth to healthy ones with intact ears, and you take a blade and cut them, or slit them, and say: 'This is a *bahirah*,' and you split their skins and say: 'This is a *sarim*,' thereby forbidding them to yourself and your family?" I said: Yes. He said: "Everything that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has given you is lawful for you. The arm of Allah is stronger, and the blade of Allah is sharper." He may have said it, and he may not have said it. And he may have said: "The arm of Allah is stronger than your arm, and the blade of Allah is sharper than your blade." He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, a man whom I stayed with did not host me nor honor me, then he stayed with me; should I host him or repay him for what he did? He said: "Rather, host him."
