Hadith 680:2
Ubaydah ibn Humayd Abu Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib narrated to me, from Arfajah, who said: I was with Utbah ibn Farqad while he was speaking about Ramadan. He said: Then a man from the companions of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered upon us. He said: When Utbah saw him, he held him in awe and fell silent. He said: So he spoke about Ramadan, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: "In Ramadan, the gates of the Fire are closed, the gates of Paradise are opened, and the devils are shackled." He said: "And an angel calls out in it: 'O seeker of good, rejoice; O seeker of evil, desist,' until Ramadan ends."
حدثنا عبيدة بن حميد أبو عبد الرحمن، حدثني عطاء بن السائب، عن عرفجة قال: كنت عند عتبة بن فرقد وهو يحدث عن رمضان، قال: فدخل علينا رجل، من أصحاب محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: فلما رآه عتبة هابه فسكت. قال: فحدث عن رمضان قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " في رمضان تغلق فيه أبواب النار، وتفتح فيه أبواب الجنة، وتصفد فيه الشياطين " قال: " وينادي فيه ملك: يا باغي الخير أبشر، يا باغي الشر أقصر، حتى ينقضي رمضان "
