Hadith 683:3
Waki’ and Muhammad ibn Ja’far narrated to us, they said: Shu’bah narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla. Ibn Ja’far said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla, from a man among the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Do not meet the riders [to buy their goods before they reach the market]." Ibn Ja’far said: "Merchandise shall not be met, and a resident shall not sell for a bedouin. Whoever buys a *musarrah* (an animal whose milk has been withheld in the udder to deceive the buyer), he has the choice of the two options." Ibn Ja’far said: "One of the two options. If he returns it, he returns with it a *sa’* of food or a *sa’* of dates."
حدثنا وكيع، ومحمد بن جعفر، قالا: حدثنا شعبة، عن الحكم، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى، قال ابن جعفر: سمعت ابن أبي ليلى، عن رجل، من أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا تلقوا الركبان، قال ابن جعفر: لا يتلقى جلب، ولا يبع حاضر لباد، ومن اشترى مصراة فهو فيها بآخر النظرين، وقال ابن جعفر: بأحد النظرين، إن ردها رد معها صاعا من طعام أو صاعا من تمر "
