Hadith 846:1
Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Khalid, from Abu Qilabah, from Muhammad ibn Abi A’ishah, from a man among the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Perhaps you recite behind the Imam while the Imam is reciting?" They said: "We do indeed do that." He said: "Do not do so, except that one of you recites the Mother of the Book," or he said: "The Opening of the Book."
حدثنا يحيى بن آدم، حدثنا سفيان، عن خالد، عن أبي قلابة، عن محمد بن أبي عائشة، عن رجل من أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لعلكم تقرءون خلف الإمام، والإمام يقرأ "، قالوا: إنا لنفعل ذلك، قال: " فلا تفعلوا، إلا أن يقرأ أحدكم بأم الكتاب "، أو قال: " فاتحة الكتاب "
