Hadith 1001:1
Mu'awiyah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Abu Ishaq narrated to us, from Za'idah, from 'Asim ibn Kulayb, from his father, that a man from the Ansar informed him, saying: We went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for a funeral. When we returned, we met the messenger of a woman from Quraysh, who said: "O Messenger of Allah, such-and-such woman invites you and those with you to food." So he turned, and we turned with him. We sat in the seating places of children before their fathers. Then the food was brought, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, placed his hand, and the people placed their hands. The people noticed him while he was chewing his morsel, not swallowing it. They raised their hands and were heedless of us, then they remembered, so they took our hands. A man would strike the morsel with his hand until it fell. Then they held our hands, watching what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would do. He spat it out and cast it away, then said: "I find the meat of a sheep that was taken without the permission of its owners." The woman stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, it was in my mind to gather you and those with you for food. I sent to the Baqi', but I did not find a sheep for sale. 'Amir ibn Abi Waqqas had bought a sheep yesterday from the Baqi', so I sent to him, 'Seek a sheep for me in the Baqi'.' It was not found, and it was mentioned to me that you had bought a sheep, so send it to me. The messenger did not find him, but he found his family, and they gave it to my messenger." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Feed it to the captives."
حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو، حدثنا أبو إسحاق، عن زائدة، عن عاصم بن كليب، عن أبيه، أن رجلا من الأنصار أخبره قال: خرجنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في جنازة، فلما رجعنا لقينا داعي امرأة من قريش فقال: يا رسول الله، إن فلانة تدعوك ومن معك إلى طعام، فانصرف فانصرفنا معه، فجلسنا مجالس الغلمان من آبائهم بين أيديهم، ثم جيء بالطعام فوضع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يده، ووضع القوم أيديهم ففطن له القوم، وهو يلوك لقمته لا يجيزها، فرفعوا أيديهم وغفلوا عنا، ثم ذكروا فأخذوا بأيدينا فجعل الرجل يضرب اللقمة بيده حتى تسقط، ثم أمسكوا بأيدينا ينظرون ما يصنع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فلفظها فألقاها فقال: " أجد لحم شاة أخذت بغير إذن أهلها ". فقامت المرأة فقالت: يا رسول الله، إنه كان في نفسي أن أجمعك ومن معك على طعام، فأرسلت إلى البقيع فلم أجد شاة تباع، وكان عامر بن أبي وقاص ابتاع شاة أمس من البقيع، فأرسلت إليه أن ابتغي لي شاة في البقيع، فلم توجد فذكر لي أنك اشتريت شاة، فأرسل بها إلي، فلم يجده الرسول ووجد أهله فدفعوها إلى رسولي، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " أطعموها الأسارى "
