Hadith 229:1
Abu Sa’id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, saying: Za’idah narrated to us, saying: Al-Sa’ib ibn Hubaysh narrated to us, from Abu al-Shammakh al-Azdi, from a cousin of his among the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he came to Mu’awiyah and entered upon him and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: "Whoever is put in charge of the affairs of the people, then closes his door against the needy, or the oppressed, or the one in need, Allah the Almighty and Majestic will close the doors of His mercy against him at the time of his need and his poverty, when he is most in need of it."
