Musnad Ahmad 454:1

Muhammad—who is Ibn Ja‘far—narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Ishaq ibn Suwayd, from Abu Habibah, from that man, who said: I came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and I had a need. He saw *khuluq* (a yellow perfume) on me, so he said: "Go and wash it off." So I washed it off, then I returned to him. He said: "Go and wash it off." So I went and fell into a well, and I took a bucket and began to follow it (to wash it off). Then I returned to him, and he said: "What is your need?"
