Musnad Ahmad 606:1

Rawh narrated to us, he said: Salih ibn Abi al-Akhdar narrated to us, from Ibn Shihab, that ‘Ata’ ibn Yazid narrated to him that some of the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, narrated to him that he said to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace: "O Messenger of God, which of the people is best?" The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "A believer who strives with his self and his wealth in the way of God." They said: "Then who, O Messenger of God?" He said: "Then a believer in a mountain pass among the mountain passes, who fears God and leaves the people alone from his evil."
