Hadith of Ma‘n ibn Yazid al-Sulami (RA)

Hadith 194:1

Mus'ab ibn al-Miqdam and Muhammad ibn Sabiq narrated to us, they said: Isra'il narrated to us, from Abu al-Juwayriyah, that Ma'n ibn Yazid narrated to him, he said: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, I, my father, and my grandfather. He performed the marriage sermon for me and married me off, and I brought a dispute before him. My father, Yazid, went out with dinars to give them in charity, and he placed them with a man in the mosque. I took them and brought them to him. He said: "By Allah, it was not you I intended them for." I brought the dispute before the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said to him: "You have what you intended, O Yazid," and he said to me: "And for you, O Ma'n, is what you took."
