Hadith of Ma'qil ibn Yasar (RA)

Hadith 806:19

Abu Ahmad narrated to us, Khalid—meaning Ibn Tahman—narrated to us, from Nafi' ibn Abi Nafi', from Ma'qil ibn Yasar, who said: I performed wudu for the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, one day. He said, "Do you wish to visit Fatimah with me?" I said, "Yes." So he stood up, leaning on me, and said, "As for it, someone other than you will carry her burden, and its reward will be for you." He said: It was as if I were carrying nothing until we entered upon Fatimah. He said to her, "How do you find yourself?" She said, "By Allah, my grief has intensified, my poverty has become severe, and my illness has lasted long." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: I found in my father's book, in his own handwriting, regarding this hadith, he said: "Are you not pleased that I have married you to the first of my nation in submission, the most knowledgeable of them, and the greatest of them in forbearance?"
