Hadith 806:22
'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab asked about the obligatory share of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) regarding the grandfather. Ma'qil ibn Yasar al-Muzani stood up and said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) decreed regarding it." He said: "What?" He said: "The sixth." He said: "With whom?" He said: "I do not know." He said: "May you not know, then what use are you?"
حدثنا عبد الأعلى، عن يونس، عن الحسن ، أن عمر بن الخطاب سأل عن فريضة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الجد، فقام معقل بن يسار المزني، فقال: " قضى فيها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: ماذا؟ قال: " السدس "، قال: مع من؟ قال: لا أدري. قال: لا دريت فما تغني إذا؟ "
