Musnad Ahmad 1163:1

Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah, from Ibn 'Abbas, from Maymunah, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) passed by a dead sheep belonging to a freedwoman of Maymunah. He said: "Why did they not take its hide, tan it, and benefit from it?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is dead (carrion)." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Only its consumption has been forbidden." Sufyan said: This phrase, "its consumption has been forbidden," I did not hear it except from al-Zuhri. 'Abd Allah said: My father said: Sufyan said: Twice, from Maymunah.
