Hadith of Maymunah bint al-Harith al-Hilaliyyah, the wife of the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 1163:5
Rawh narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi Hafsah narrated to us, he said: Al-Zuhri narrated to us, from Ubayd ibn al-Sabbaq, from Abdullah ibn Abbas, from Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, she said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, woke up feeling heavy (or unwell). It was said to him: "What is the matter with you, O Messenger of Allah, that you have woken up feeling heavy?" He said: "Gabriel, peace be upon him, promised to meet me, but he did not meet me, and he has never broken a promise to me." He did not come to him that night, nor the second, nor the third. Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, suspected a puppy that was under our bed. He ordered it to be taken out, then he took water and sprinkled the place where it had been. Then Gabriel, peace be upon him, came. He said: "You promised me, and I did not see you?" He said: "We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image." She said: So on that day, he ordered the killing of dogs. She said: To the extent that he would be asked for permission regarding the dog of a small garden, and he would order it to be killed.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
