Hadith 961:106
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad—meaning Ibn Salamah—narrated to us, he said: I, 'Asim ibn Bahdalah, and Thabit were together. 'Asim narrated from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Abu Zabyah, from Mu'adh ibn Jabal, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no Muslim who spends the night remembering Allah while in a state of purity, then wakes up during the night and asks Allah for any good of this world and the Hereafter, but He will grant it to him." Thabit said: He came to us and narrated this hadith to us—and I do not know him to mean anyone other than Abu Zabyah. I said to Hammad: From Mu'adh? He said: From Mu'adh.
حدثنا عفان، حدثنا حماد يعني ابن سلمة قال: كنت أنا وعاصم بن بهدلة، وثابت، فحدث عاصم، عن شهر بن حوشب، عن أبي ظبية، عن معاذ بن جبل، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " ما من مسلم يبيت على ذكر الله طاهرا، فيتعار من الليل فيسأل الله خيرا من الدنيا والآخرة إلا أعطاه " فقال ثابت: قدم علينا فحدثنا هذا الحديث ولا أعلمه إلا يعني أبا ظبية. قلت لحماد: عن معاذ؟ قال: عن معاذ
