Hadith 961:108
Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Abu al-Tufayl 'Amir ibn Wathilah, from Mu'adh: "That the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, during the expedition of Tabuk, if he departed before the sun declined, he would delay the Dhuhr until he joined it with the 'Asr, praying them both together. And if he departed after the sun declined, he would pray the Dhuhr and the 'Asr together, then he would travel. And if he departed before the Maghrib, he would delay the Maghrib until he prayed it with the 'Isha. And if he departed after the Maghrib, he would hasten the 'Isha and pray it with the Maghrib." *** Harun ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, he said: 'Abdullah, and I heard it from Harun, narrated to us Ibn Wahb, Yahya ibn Ayyub informed me, from 'Ubaydullah ibn Zahr, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Rafi' al-Tanukhi, the judge of Ifriqiya, that Mu'adh ibn Jabal arrived in Ash-Sham, and the people of Ash-Sham were not performing Witr. He said to Mu'awiyah: "Why do I see the people of Ash-Sham not performing Witr?" Mu'awiyah said: "Is that obligatory upon them?" He said: "Yes. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'My Lord, Mighty and Majestic is He, added a prayer for me, and it is the Witr; its time is between the 'Isha and the break of dawn.'"
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد، حدثنا ليث، عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب، عن أبي الطفيل عامر بن واثلة، عن معاذ: " أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان في غزوة تبوك إذا ارتحل قبل زيغ الشمس أخر الظهر حتى يجمعها إلى العصر يصليهما جميعا، وإذا ارتحل بعد زيغ الشمس صلى الظهر والعصر جميعا، ثم سار وكان إذا ارتحل قبل المغرب أخر المغرب حتى يصليها مع العشاء، وإذا ارتحل بعد المغرب عجل العشاء فصلاها مع المغرب " * 22095 - حدثنا هارون بن معروف قال: عبد الله وسمعته أنا من هارون حدثنا ابن وهب، أخبرني يحيى بن أيوب، عن عبيد الله بن زحر، عن عبد الرحمن بن رافع التنوخي قاضي إفريقية، أن معاذ بن جبل قدم الشام وأهل الشام لا يوترون فقال: لمعاوية ما لي أرى أهل الشام لا يوترون؟ فقال معاوية: وواجب ذلك عليهم؟ قال: نعم. سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " زادني ربي عز وجل صلاة وهي الوتر، وقتها ما بين العشاء إلى طلوع الفجر "
