Hadith 961:109
'Affan narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Anas, that Mu'adh ibn Jabal narrated to him, saying: While I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, with nothing between me and him except the back of the saddle, he said: "O Mu'adh." I said: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah, and at your command." He said: Then he traveled for a while, then he said: "O Mu'adh ibn Jabal." I said: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah, and at your command." He said: Then he traveled for a while, then he said: "O Mu'adh ibn Jabal." I said: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah, and at your command." He said: "Do you know what is the right of Allah upon the servants?" He said: I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Indeed, the right of Allah upon the servants is that they worship Him and do not associate anything with Him." He said: Then he traveled for a while, then he said: "O Mu'adh ibn Jabal." I said: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah, and at your command." He said: "Do you know what is the right of the servants upon Allah if they do that?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Indeed, the right of the servants upon Allah is that He does not punish them."
