Hadith 961:121
Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from Ibn Umayr Abd al-Malik, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Mu’adh, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) performed a prayer and perfected the bowing, the prostration, and the standing in it. I mentioned that to him, and he said: "This is a prayer of desire and fear. I asked my Lord for three things in it; He granted me two and did not grant me one. I asked Him not to destroy my nation by a year of famine so that they would perish, and He granted me that. I asked Him not to empower an enemy against them from other than themselves, and He granted me that. And I asked Him not to make their might [fighting/conflict] among themselves, and He withheld that from me."
