'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Mu'adh, who said: Two men reviled each other in the presence of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and one of them became angry. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "I surely know a word that, if he were to say it, his anger would depart: 'I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan' (A'udhu billahi min ash-shaytanir-rajim)."
